Ok, so I haven’t been working out with any sort of regularity for this winter break.  I ran a few times when I was visiting my grandmother, and I did yoga a few times too.  But usually, they were a couple of days in between activities.  This week won’t be any better because of the holiday for New Year’s.  So, I decided not to beat myself up about it.  I took a break.  It happens.  I’ll even continue this break for the rest of this week.  I mean, there was a lot going on.  I finished my finals, I got engaged, I visited my grandmother, I visited my family, I visited my fiance’s family (I was on an airplane a lot), and now I’m trying to recover from all of this.

But on Monday, I’ll get back into things.  Before then, I’m just going to chill and maybe workout a little.  But on Monday, the schedule that I love so much starts up again!  I am also going to start off with less time/mileage on everything so I don’t wear myself off.  I have to ease back into the schedule I had before.  Ok, so now I have a plan! That makes me feel better!!

Kestner says:

Rest and recovery are just as important as training. If recovery is bad, training will be bad. If recovery is good, training will be good. Always.

Congratulations (as much as that means from a stranger) on your engagement.

I second Kestner’s comment about rest and recovery. We all need to take a break once in a while. Congratulations on the engagement. Best wishes to both you and your fiance. Enjoy your weekend off, and have a fabulous workout on Monday!

Jogging is very beneficial. It's good for your legs and your feet. It's also very good for the ground. It makes it feel needed. ~Charles Schulz, Peanuts
